Hermes “Leather Forever” Exhibition opening cocktail was held on 6th Sept with an amazing temporary structure built in the podium of the design hub PMQ in between two buildings. It was truly a perfect installation, with this Hermes “building” seamlessly linking to the PMQ rooftop garden and private cocktail floor.
I love this leather storage setting right at the entrance! I know… I’m obsessed with materials because I’m also a handbag designer. I grew up with leather and this makes me feel like home!
Classic Hermes bag shapes across the years are shown on this wall.
Do you know how many versions of Kelly Bags can there be? Count.
Walking pass this horse riding scene, I ended up doing a bit of it myself haha!
Travel and camp in style… these are the most iconic travel trunks of the brand with a few vintage pieces and cute animal leather decorations like the ones below:
This rhino is made of ostrich skin! The real animal cross-over is happening there.
Very delicate miniature Hermes bags all in leather – I personally really appreciate the efforts put in the mini metal fittings.
This leather wings bike was flown from Paris to Hong Kong – it was a window display piece from there in 2013.
A must-see exhibition, not only about the brand with a long history but to learn and know the history of bags (a few very nice vintage bags of a hundred years old are showcased there, not only bags from the brand itself but those collected by the family), possibilities in craftsmanship, leather quality, product presentation, and spend a sensational afternoon there.
